I feel like Giannis is in his Clippers Kawhi era defensively where he’s still clearly a positive and can make great plays but isn’t the full-out DPOY-level guy he once was

Offensively you can make a case this is his peak defensively I think his 2019-2022 self was better than his current version on a night-to-night basis by a pretty significant margin

I don't disagree with that at all, but I think here with time/score in mind he's playing for a steal rather than focussing on keeping the ball in front. I don't know if gambling for that is the right decision though, get a stop and you have 10-and-change seconds to get a three.
